  • Finally free. Now its time for a new "Mr. Sawdust top"

  • M.D.F. top and bottom with 3/4" steel bar reinforcements ready for glue and clamps

  • Yellow glue for M.D.F. and epoxy resin for steel bar reinforcement

  • Clamped with aluminum I-beams for absolute flatness. Thanx Wally for loan of I-beams.

  • Time for new motor bearing and start capacitor. Speedwell electric motors in Morristown, NJ to the rescue. Please dont paint the motor leave the speckled green

  • Couldnt run ductwork overhead ran in concrete floor. Cutting with diamond blade worm drive saw.

  • Ductwork prevents tripping hazard

  • 2" concrete thickness easily broken and refilled to remove.

  • Example of adjustment bars with adjustable bolts/nuts for securing Mr. Sawdust table top to base.

  • 1953 MODEL "A" SOUTH BEND LATHE REFINISHING. I'm a beginner thats fascinated with old machines and the men and women that ran them.

  • Original motor with power twist v-belt. Would like to upgrade with D.C. variable speed motor and a quick change tool holder with carbide inserts.

  • Lathe was lightly rusted and many parts covered in mouse urine. Entire lathe stripped of paint and steel parts wirebrushed polished and oiled.

  • Variety of wire wheels used for stripping

  • Caste aluminum tool holder stripped

  • Carriage saddle and cross slide to be stripped and oiled

  • Cabinet stripped inside and outside

  • 2 Coats of matched Benjamin Moore oil based paint applied.

  • Tailstock to be stripped and Tailstock hard wheel polished

  • Tailstock painted

  • Carriage painted and steel handles polished. Oiled and adjusted.

  • 1972 ROCKWELL DELTA UNISAW REBUILD/UPGRADE. New motor bearings, Bora® mobile stand, Incra® fence, storage cabinets. Stripped and painted with original color.

  • Machined aluminum knob for locking blade angle. Not available on Ebay.

  • New emergency stop switch.

  • New dust collection motor enclosure. Originally was sheet metal.

  • Motor enclosure with foam seal and wingnuts for easy removal,

  • Magnetic sheet to restrict airflow on dust cleanout.

  • Added gated dust port.

  • Added a sealed base for airtight dust collection.

  • Blade storage and accessories cabinets.
